Week in Review

The weather this week has been bi-polar. One day it is like Spring and the next day it is like Winter again. I think the Sun has finally been out long enough for me to get some Vitamin D. I actually caught myself smiling and feeling happy. I didn't realize it until I looked at my pictures. I am trying out my $1 finds from Community Aid.

Winter day outfit
Maxi skirt $1
Suede fringe belt $1
Sweater retail clearance $6

Spring day outfit
Frock $1
Sweater $1.25

I used the same wood necklace with both outfits. A relic left from the 70's during my Bohemian period.

Here are some of the highlights of this week...

I found my button box.

The crocuses started blooming

I found a whole bag of earrings for $3 at the Charity Shop
(I rinsed them in alcohol to sterilize since some were pierced)

My husband and Number 3 son got fitted for their tuxes for my Number 1 son's June wedding.

Looking forward to more of this...

Dance If You Want To...

We just found out this week that a long time friend of ours is finally being beaten by his long time enemy, colon cancer. He has been given only a few more months on this earth. Before we first got married 28 years ago, we would spend hours way into the night playing UNO and laughing and having our whole lives ahead of us. Children came and life sucked up our time and before we knew it, we were old. We are going to visit him next week and it will be one of the hardest things I have done in my 54 years. I don't want to make you sad with this post, it is just a reminder to dance if you want to, cry if you want to, wear plaids with polka dots and bows in your hair! We don't know what tomorrow may bring, and I don't want to say "I wish I would have..."

Last week Peanut from MRTB asked me to dance at the Annual Fashion Show. At first, I thought I am too old to do anything like that. Now I am thinking that I will dance for myself and if anyone wants to share in my joy, they are welcome to. That is what any kind of artistic expression is anyway, whether it be music, singing, dancing, fashion or drawing; it is just the love, joy, pain, happiness and sorrow inside of each one of us building up inside until we can't contain it anymore and it bursts out!

I think that is why I love all of you Blogger Girls, because "YOU GET IT!". You are who you are and if that is too much for others to deal with, "Oh Well".

Keep Dancing!!!

Do Something!

I have always made excuses why I didn't pursue college. I'm done making excuses. I don't know if this is where I am going to attend, but I am starting the process of beginning my college career. Here is the first one that I have visited. Of course after the sweet little girl helped me get course information and get signed up for aid and grants, I told her I needed her picture for my Blog.

This is Shakiyya from Phoenix University. Hi Shakiyya!

She helped me take my first step in moving ahead.

Since this is a bold move for me, I wore a bold blouse. This is one of my $1 finds at Community Aid.

I paired it with my leopard print headband.

Sorry, it is a little dark.
Unfortunately, I will still have to get another job, but I am not going to let that stop me. This is something I've wanted to do for a long time.
